Introduction

Document Output's automation and security features are designed to save you time and enhance the security of Business Central documents to customers and vendors. This module will cover key features which build automation and security in Document Output.
The document queue runs in the background to initialize and render reports into documents, freeing you up to move onto other tasks in Business Central.
Email jobs allow you to create rules for sending reports to the document queue, based on criteria such as posting date and report status.
Customer statements have their own settings page in Document Output, giving you extra control over when statements are automatically sent, paused or saved to a journal. You can also decide exactly what content is included and excluded.
PDF passwords or PDF sign certificates can be set up for specific email templates or template lines, helping to add a level of security to the documents you email to vendors and customers. Customers can also have a unique PDF password that applies to all PDFs sent to them through Document Output.
Scenarios
This module follows a series of scenarios faced by Ester, the bookkeeper, and Robin, a manager, at Cronus. Ester and Robin have already set up Document Output with email templates, email recipients and output profiles. Their attention is now turned to how to automate manual tasks and reduce time waiting for system processes. Furthermore, they needs to work on enhancing the security of Business Central documents sent as PDFs.
