Defining Document Status Codes
Occasionally, some of the documents that you work on can’t be finished right away, as their completion depends on other actions, such as the dispatch of other business documents. Typically, there’s a limited number of reasons why you’re unable to complete the documents, including pending goods receipt, waiting for credit memo, and processed by someone else.
In such cases, you can use document status codes to indicate why the documents haven’t been finished and registered. You can assign status codes to documents in the document journal as you prefer.
When you set up document status codes, use codes that are descriptive and easy to remember. Bear in mind that all codes must be unique, and that you can set up as many codes as you like.
To set up document status codes, follow these steps:
- Choose the icon, enter Document Status Codes, and then choose the related link.
- In the action bar, select New.
- Fill in the fields as necessary.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 for every status code you want to use.
The entered codes are now available and ready to be assigned to documents in the document journal.
